Advancing Global Education in Wisconsin

Global education in Wisconsin is a comprehensive initiative that involves public and private K-12 schools, colleges and universities, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Global Wisconsin Inc. (GWI) is a non-profit organization that works with these educational institutions, professional associations, community organizations, and others to promote international learning, global awareness and cross-cultural connections across Wisconsin.

GWI aims to foster a statewide network that brings together individuals and organizations committed to advancing the global competency of Wisconsin citizens through education and advocacy. GWI and its partners share the goal of educating globally competent students who can fully participate in today's interconnected world as responsible citizens and successful participants in the global economy.
GWI played an active role in developing and sustaining Wisconsin's innovative Global Education Achievement Certificate (GEAC) and Wisconsin Global Youth Summits.

Moving forward, the organization seeks to support and strengthen the Global Schools Network (schools that have adopted the GEAC) and promote the spirit of this visionary effort. GWI also advocates for the many programs and resource centers at Wisconsin's colleges and universities that support global education in a comprehensive K-16 system.

This website aims to provide a place where global educators can share ideas and best practices, seek resources and showcase some of the best of global education in Wisconsin. Please contact Global Wisconsin, Inc. with feedback and suggestions for additional information or resources.
